We are Soldiers

Like the boys and girls, Men and women, That have gone to war and lost their lives to the enemy, We have soldiers too that have battled with the enemy of cancer. It takes life with no care who it hurts or leaves behind, Like the soldiers we have lost in war. In the past and today, they are and will live in memory With monuments we have made to them. Like the Soldiers of war, The people that have been soldiers and lost their battle with cancer, Their memory will live on with the trees of life so we All can honor their memory too.

To Your Earth Angel

The time has come to thank the earth angel for the work he has done for all the souls that have gone before their time. Not only has the earth angel made the Tree of Life, he has made three so all can be with your loved ones, with the start lighting your way. To all of you, we know that we will be in your hearts forever. The earth angel said he had a dream one night. He said he would hear children’s voices, talking, laughing, crying, and just talking. It was not a dream. It was the young angels that were taken before their time, sent back to the earth to be with the Trees of Life so they could all be together. The earth angel also said in his dream that he could see the young angels go back to heaven through the gates to heaven we will be back. That was no dream my earth angel, it was real. Again, thanks to the earth angel because of you this would not be.

To the Keeper

As I was lying under my warm covers With my pillow in my arms A bright light shined through my window. As I let go of my pillow and pulled back the covers I looked out of the window and looked up In the sky, and My angel said to me to move the tree of life so That all could see her three trees, I said her wish was my command.

To My Wife

It was like a royal wedding the day you and I were to be as one – husband & wife. As I looked into your eyes I know that I have found true love like the saying goes. If one has never loved, one has never lived. From that first time I saw you, I knew that was true. Even now that I am gone in body, but not in soul, I will always be in your hearts – my wife and my two little girls. Because of my little girls, part of my will live on in them. Just as when Dad and my girls would go to the store and maybe get something for mom, or even just to say her name, I knew that when I saw her again and looked into her eyes, I would light up like a light.

To my wife I have to say goodbye for now, but I will be in your hearts. When you go to bed and put your finger on your forhead that is me kissing you good night. I love you my wife, and I always will.

To My Son

As I sit in my big chair i looked down the long hallway of life. Thinking of when my son would come through the door To tell me how he hit his first home run at the ball game, Or when he ran up that lone hallway and said “dad, dad” To show me his report card and how proud I was of him. As I sit in my big chair now that he is gone I will never hear about His first girlfriend, The first day he gets his drivers license or When he graduates from school and again How proud I would be of him. With the tree of life I can now go and tell him How proud I would have been of him. I miss you Son.

To My Mom and Dad

Like the song – “Only the Good Die Young”, I hope that I have done some good and made a difference for you, for the time that I have been with you.
I am here now with all the young and older angels that cancer has taken with no care who it hurts.
Like the young angels that are here with me, I am at peace now because I too am learning from them. They tell me about the earth angels that are there, they tell me that we all have earth angels. I hope the one I sent you will cross your path in life because I said that my mom and ada are one of a kind.
I have to say good bye. But not like when I went to heaven. The angels tell me that one earth angel has made the trees of life so you can be with all the souls that cancer has taken.
Good bye Mom and Dad, I will always be in your heart.
Your loving son, By: Wayne D. Smith

To my Mom and Dad

The days run into years and the memories stay strong…as strong as the day I went in body but not in soul. With the trees of life I can also tell you, mom and dad, how proud I am of you and what you have done to help the living. With the journey that you and mom are about to take, I will be with you, not only in your hearts, but beside you. My mom and dad, to me, are one of a kind and because of you the world will be a better place. There are angels here where I am, but there are also earth angels with you.
Love,
Your son

To My Grampie

Every weekend me and my Grampie would go for a drive in his old truck. As we drove down the road my Grampie would tell me stories and how he was going to teach me how to drive his old truck.

One weekend when Grampie came to my house to take me for my drive – I just didn’t feel good. As time went on I found out that I had cancer. My Grampie told me that everything would be ok.

Now that I have gone to heaven with all the other young boys and girls that cancer has taken before their time. I will never forget the time I had with my Grampie and his old truck.

I miss your Grampie

To My Grammie

Hello, my name is Joeseph, and this is my first poem:

I know I have not been on the earth for very long and I don’t talk yet, but I can see and hear very well.

As I look up into Grammie’s eyes, I can tell that she is an angel.

Like the saying goes, a new baby is a gift from heaven and in heaven there are angels. Now I know that there is one on earth and that is my Grammie.

I will not be writing another poem because I have been called back to heaven. But the short time I have been with you and my Grammie that I have done some good to all. For all of you to be happy and I will be looking down on you.

Goodbye

To my Dad

From the first day we found out that mom had cancer I knew that Dad and I would have to be a team. I knew that this would be a big job for Dad and me, even at 8 years old. But I could do the job because my mom told me that we all have to help each other.
That morning that I will never forget when I went into mom’s bedroom to see her, and that she had gone to heaven. I had to be a man and go tell my Dad.
As I went downstairs to see my Dad, to tell him, as he was sitting in his big chair. I saw with him and looked into his eyes and told him that mom had gone to heaven, But we will still have each other. As time went on Dad and me got even closed. Talking about basball, hockey, and all the other things little boys talk about and do. One morning I got up and just didn’t feel good, as time went on I found out that I had cancer too. As I got sicker and Dad was there for me like we were for mom.
One morning I sat with Dad in his big chair and looked into his eyes, and said that I was going to heaven to see Mom

To My Dad

Like the warm days of summer The cool days of fall The cold days of winter And the wet days of spring The tears and memories are with is each and Every day with the loved ones that have been Taken before their time We will always remember the happy, sad, and Good times from the ones we have lost… Like the sound of little feet running down the hall On christmas day and saying “get up mom & dad” Or when we got older and it was time for dad to Meet my boyfriend as he looked over the top Of the newspaper and then over the top of his glasses I could tell by his eyes that He was okay As mom & dad go on and the new lives Are with us now, we will all grow stronger

The Tree’s of Life

We may have gone in body, but not in soul.
With the tree’s of life we can be remembered
With the names of loved ones that cancer has taken.
As the names of loved ones are here so we can be with them.
The angels have gone to heaven, through the gates of heaven.
So they can be together and look down on the tree’s of life.
Knowing that the earth angel has done his work.

We miss you all,

The Relay for Life

As we look down and see all of you talking and thinking about the ones that have gone. We see that the earth angel has made his mark. In his way he has made the trees of life so that all of you can see and tell the stories of the loved ones that have been taken by cancer. The wishes from the angels are that we all help each other often and that we need each other to better the lives of all of you. As the keeper of the tree of life has left the sign, the sign is he leaves the candel on all night in the trees of life to tell that we can be with you. With the tears from heaven, now with the trees of life we know that we or you can come and talk with the angels at any time. There are lots of earth angels with you but some are there for all.

My Story

Now let me tell you a story how a young lady changed my life. If one has never loved; one has never lived. From that day, I have lived. Not many people have met royalty, I have done that. Even less people have met royalty for the second time. I have done that too. To me this young lady would be my queen and her wishes would be my command. As she said to me -“We can only be like two ships that pass in the night.” My reply to her -“She would be the Titanic and I would be the iceberg. That way, we could be as one…” Now let me tell you my story.

My Little Angel

Mom, don’t cry. I know that I was not with you for very long, but the time I was there, will forever be in your mind and heart forever. Like when I would have my tea parties, and Dad would sit with me and talk and say how much of a lady I was and how pretty I was. I said to myself that someday I will much of a lady I was and how pretty I was. Now that I’m gone in body, but not in soul, Mom and Dad will remember me. When you see or hear things like the sound of the birds feet on the roof, it makes you think of when I would run down the hall on Christmas morning saying, “Get up, Mom and Dad!”; or when you when you would see a young. girl with her dress ad hair blowing in the wind, that I am not far away. Now that I am in heaven with all the other young boys and girls that cancer has taken before their time, we are all looking down before their time, we are all looking down on you hoping that everyone is happy and thinking of their lost ones. They tell me that there are Earth Angels down on Earth that are there to help and look after everyone…they said that one Earth angel has made three Trees of Life in memory of those taken by cancer. So, you Mom and Dad, can go and say how much we are missed and how proud you are of the souls taken before their time.

My Birthday

As the rain fell all day Washing away the bad and dirty things of winter away, and the clouds went to the west like the sun setting ending a good day, The night sky was clean so that even on could see the stars above. As the keeper stood in from of the tree of life adjusting the lights, a fog began to set around him as he stood up and looked up in the sky He saw a bright star and in the back ground he heard the sound Of angel winds as she flew away.

My Angels

As the earth angel works his way in life helping where he is needed, he also needs help. As the keeper of the tree of life he left the sign. The sign was when he needs the help from his angels he leaves the candel on all night in the tree of life so we can tell we are needed. His need was to wash away the misfortune of others with the tears from heaven. As the tears fell the keeper asked not all at one time so that the misfortune Could flow away slowly. We are all looking down on you, all the earth angels and we are so happy to Have helped in any way.
We all miss you.

Mother’s Day

I am sorry that I didn’t say goodbye but I only went in body not in soul, As the days run into the years and you and dad meet other people with different Outlooks on life I hope that the one I sent you has chosen your path, They will bring you happiness, jokes, make you smile and tell you things you never Hear about (just put up with him). I had told him that my mom was one of a kind and That she would bring out the best in him.

Little Angel

As we were driving home from the doctor’s office, where we got the bad news about your Little Angel. There was not much said, as I looked in my rearview mirror at my Little Angel, I could tell that there was something on her mind.

When we got home she said Mom and Dad To sit down in the living room, as she went upstairs like a little soldier. That was all through the cancer. We could hear her doing something in her room. As she came down the stairs like a little Queen with her dress, and shoes, and her hair the way she liked it. Her little hand bag in her hand, she stood in front of mom and dad. She pulled out a piece of paper, and told us to read it. The poem is called my Little Angel.

Humboldt

Like the saying goes only the good die young. In saying that everything happens for a reason. Because of this loss of young lives it shows how we all can come together and be strong. Because we all need each other for that reason. It is when this happens we think of each other – but we should think like that all year long because life can be gone too quick. From all of us to those taken before their time.

Hi Mom and Dad

A Year has passed and the walk for life is here again. As I look down and see all of you, With my candles of life lighting up my path to you, I can see that I have only left you in body and That I will always be with you in your hearts. Like the candle and wheels of life keep on turning You will always be on my mind and each year the walk will get stronger and stronger.
